Electronics Recycling Kane County


The Kane County Electronics Recycling Program is for Kane County residents and all residents of border towns like Algonquin, Elgin, Aurora, Montgomery). The program is for residential material only, no businesses. For more details, visit Kane County Recycles. 


Fabyan Parkway, Batavia

South Elgin Old Public Works
Location: 735 Martin Drive, South Elgin, IL 60177 (drop-off is on the south side of the building)

West Dundee Public Works

  • Electronics (Free, except for TVs and Monitors, which have a cost, see below) 
  • Books (Free, hard and soft covers, any age, any condition) 
  • Paint (Cost applies, Liquid Latex and Oil Paints)
  • Confidential Document Shredding (Free onsite shredding, for residential material only)


  • TVs and Monitors cost $25 (under 21" measured diagonally across the screen) or $35 (21" and over).
  • Latex Paint costs per can ($2/quart, $3.50/gallon, $5.50/2gallon, $10/5gallon) payable by the resident with cash or check only.
  • Oil Paint costs per can ($6/quart, $9/gallon, $25/5gallon) payable by the resident by cash or check only).

Aurora, City of (Periodic Events)
Aurora: Central Garage, 720 N. Broadway Avenue, or the Customer Service Center, 3770 McCoy Drive

Limitations: Electronics collection events are limited to City of Aurora residents only, and are reserved for electronics used in residences. No items from businesses will be accepted. Residents will be asked for identification with proof of their Aurora address.​

Accepts: Electronic Recycling is provided to East Dundee residents at no charge. Residents can drop off old TVs, computers, printers, scanners, VCRs, etc. See full list of acceptable items here​.​ Please note the dumping of non-electronic items is prohibited and will be under video surveillance. Proof of residency will be required for drop off. Thank you for helping keep East Dundee clean! 
Elgin Recycling

Accepts:  electronics, flat screens are accepted, Christmas lights; TVs or CRT monitors with charges starting at $20. Other electronics, like printers, laptops, PCs, etc. are accepted for free. Visit the website​(elginrecycling.com/electronics/) or call for current charges.
HOBI International​

Accepts:   TVs and monitors are accepted for a fee, as follows: $13 for screens under 25"; $27 for screens 25" - 48"; and $54 for screens over 48". Miscellaneous electronics at a charge of $5 per box, and $5 per PC, $5 per laptop, and $5 per printer. Exact cash only, credit cards and checks are not accepted. No white goods (washers, refrigerators, etc.) or any household appliances.

MRK Group Event​

Hours: Drop-off event on the LAST FRIDAY of every month9am - 5pm​ - except during holidays. Call to enquire about schedule changes for holidays.
Accepts:  all electronics, including TVs, up to 10 items per resident or business. Fees apply for TVs 32" and over, starting at $50. Call for more details.


Village of Montgomery Residents Only: For curbside pick up of tube, plasma, and projection TVs call 866-929-5551. Collection fee of $35 applies.​
