Chicago Container Permit Fee

In January of 2021, the City of Chicago has increased permit fees, which became law April 1, 2009, by 10%. 

Each account serviced in the City of Chicago will be assessed a Container Permit Fee for each refuse container. This charge is imposed by the City of Chicago.

Less than 1 cubic yard $56.16 /year
1 to 2 cubic yard container $105.60 /year
2 to 10 cubic yards $207.96 /year
Over 10 cubic yards $541.20 /year
Recycling No fee
