Flood Brothers will provide each household with a 65-gallon refuse cart. Additional carts can be rented through Flood Bros. by contacting our office. A monthly rental fee of $2.35 will be applied. Additional refuse must be contained in cans or bags, and not to exceed 35 gallons in size or 50 pounds in weight per can or bag or are large items that cannot be containerized.
Additional refuse must be readily accessible and stacked neatly alongside the issued refuse cart on regular refuse collection days. There will be no limit on the number of containers placed out for collection by a given household provided all containers meet the requirements above.

Recycling materials will be comingled (i.e. plastic, glass, metal, and paper products mixed together). Preparation requirements for households participating in the recycling program including: rinsing, removing labels, flattening, removing caps, and lids, etc. can be found on our website. Residents may place their recycling materials in additional containers marked recycling with handles or simply place them neatly alongside of recycling containers on regular recycling collection days.
Yard waste collection will begin the first full week of April and run through November 30th on the same day as refuse and recycling collection. All yard waste shall be placed in a waterproof plastic or metal container with a tight cover, or a biodegradable Kraft bag, of a size no larger than 35 gallons and not exceeding 50lbs. All units set out must have an affixed yard waste sticker. These stickers are available from Flood Brothers, Village Hall, or local retailers listed below. Yard waste cart is available upon request; a rental price would be applied.
There shall be no limit on the number of containers placed out for collection by a given household. We will accept and collect all bundles of brush or limbs, providing the bundles do not exceed a weight of fifty (50) pounds per bundle, are not more than four (4) feet long, are not more than two (2) feet in diameter, do not contain limbs greater than three (3) inches in diameter and are tied with material that is accepted at the compost site that we use.
*Each year, the first week of April and last week of November households will not need to provide a Yard Waste sticker on up to (7) containers, bundles, or bags on the regular scheduled collection day.
As part of the regularly scheduled refuse collection, Flood Brothers will collect one (1) Bulk Item from each collection stop as part of the weekly refuse collection at no charge. Bulk items are to be placed by the customer at the curb.
If a holiday falls on a weekday or a Sunday, and your regularly scheduled pickup is on or after the holiday, your pickup will be delayed by one day. Friday customers will be serviced on Saturday.

Flood Brothers will provide a special collection for Christmas trees during the month of January.. Holiday greenery must have all tinsel, ornaments, lights and nails removed before being placed out at the curb for pickup.
Flood Brothers will also provide collection services for white good items (i.e. appliances) for a fee. Examples shall include; refrigerators, dish washers, water heaters, washers, dryers, etc.
Residents will be asked to call our office 24 hours prior to collection to schedule the pickup.
Residents can drop off electronic recycling at Township building or residents can call Flood Brothers office to schedule curbside collection.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency states electronic waste is now the fastest growing segment of our nation's waste stream. Electronic waste, from computers to TVs, contain toxic materials such as lead, chromium, cadmium, mercury, beryllium, nickel, zinc and other potentially harmful chemicals. The EPA warns when electronics that contain these materials are not recycled or are not disposed of properly, the hazardous chemicals can contaminate the ground water and present additional environmental concerns. Illinois State Law bans electronic waste in landfills. Under this state law, electronic waste cannot be collected with household refuse/waste.

Flood Brothers requests residents to reach out to our office when a possible hazardous waste material may need to be disposed of. We will work with the resident to find the best solution for disposal with the assistance of Cook County Recycling programs.
