An unlimited quantity of properly prepared regular refuse and recycling will be collected from the curbside once per week. A 95-gallon refuse cart will be provided to each household. Alternate 35-gallon size is available for senior residents only. Additional household refuse beyond the 95-gallon cart may be placed in containers not exceeding 35 gallons and 50 lbs. Additional carts can be rented through Flood Bros. by contacting our office. A monthly rental fee of $2.25 will be applied.
Each houosehold is provided with one 95-gallon recycling cart. Additional carts can be rented by contacting our office. A monthly rental fee of $2.25 will be applied. Recycling materials will be comingled (i.e. plastic, glass, metal, and paper products mixed together). Residents may place their recycling materials in additional containers marked recycling with handles or simply place them neatly alongside of recycling containers on collection days.
Yard Waste Collection takes place on the same day as trash and recycling pickups, beginning the first full service week in April and ending the week of December 1st, anually. Each household can set out up to eight (8) bags/cans of landscape waste per week. All yard waste shall be placed in a water prrof plastic or metal container no larger than 35 gallons with a tight cover, or a biodegradable Kraft bag, none of which can exceed 50lbs. Additional yard waste carts are available for rental by contacting our office, with a monthly rental fee of $4.00 per cart
Residents may place yard waste made up of grass clippings, bundled branches, brush and garden materials (such as plants, flowers, weeds, vines, bark pieces, pine cones, etc.) along with clean food waste scraps for composting..
Branches need to be placed in bundles no longer than four feet and no larger than two feet in diameter. Bushes cannot weigh more than 50 pounds and cannot be longer than four (4) feet or wider than two (2) feet in diameter, tied with material that is acceptible at compost sites.
As part of the regularly scheduled refuse collection, Flood Brothers will collect one (1) bulk item each week at no additional charge. Additional bulk items will be charged $8.00 per item.. Examples include mattresses. box springs, tables, chairs and other furniture. Items must not exceed 50lbs. Bulk items weighing more than 50lbs require a special pickup. If a holiday falls on a weekday or a Sunday, and your regularly scheduled pickup is on or after the holiday, your pickup will be delayed by one day. Friday customers will be serviced on Saturday.

Holiday greenery must have all tinsel, ornaments, lights and nails removed before being placed out at the curb for pickup. Holiday greenery collection and pickup is free of charge and will take place during the month of January.
White good items are collected on your regularly scheduled collection day and carry a fee of $12.00 per item. Residents are asked to contact Flood Brothers 24 hours prior to pick up to schedule your item or items. The following items are considered white goods refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dishwashers, freezers, dryers, and water heaters. To schedule a collection of a white good item, kindly contact our office during regular business hours. White good items must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. the day of your regular pickup.
Collection service is provided for electronic recyclables with no additional charge on the same day as refuse adn recycling. Residents are required to call our office 24 hours prior to collection to schedule a pickup of more than six (6) items at a time. Each T.V. that we pickup carries a $12.00 charge
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency states electronic waste is now the fastest growing segment of our nation's waste stream. Electronic waste, from computers to TVs, contain toxic materials such as lead, chromium, cadmium, mercury, beryllium, nickel, zinc and other potentially harmful chemicals. The EPA warns when electronics that contain these materials are not recycled or are not disposed of properly, the hazardous chemicals can contaminate the ground water and present additional environmental concerns. Illinois State Law bans electronic waste in landfills. Under this state law, electronic waste cannot be collected with household refuse/waste.

Please call the office when a possible hazardous waste material may need to be disposed of. Items such as paint, pesticides, poisons, cleaning solvents, tainted gasoline, used oil, automotive products and lithium batteries are considered to be hazardous waste and should not be included in your refuse toter for collection.
